Postcards: 4/13 - 4/16

Adorable dog card from Belarus. I haven't received many dog cards, so I'm very happy to get them.
The clown card comes from Russia and is for the Weird/Odd/Strange RR. Yes, it certainly is all three! Clowns tend to scare me a bit anyway!

This card comes from Lauren in Maryland. I love crab cakes from Joe's Crab Shack, so I'm very excited to try this recipe!

Maksim from Belarus sent this beautiful castle card as part of a swap. Apparently they're going to turn it into a hotel. What a neat place that would be to stay!

This map card was (obviously) sent from Dresden, Germany. I think it's neat how it's in German!

This is a maxi card Luo Xia sent me from China of her city of Nanning. I like how she referred to me in her message by my last name! :D

Another adorable dog card from Colinde in the Netherlands.

Postcards: 2/13 & 2/14

One of my main goals is to get at least one postcard from as many different countries and states as possible. Unfortunately Postcrossing seems to have a ton of members from a handful of countries. There are certain "rare" countries that it's pretty hard to get cards from. I would like to thank Elisabeth at -[Swiss Cowgirl]- for giving me pointers on how to get postcards from places that I lack. Thanks to her, I've gotten the courage to contact Postcrossing forum users directly about private swaps. I've been afraid that everybody would say no, but so far I've received nothing but positive responses. I'm expecting the arrival of several cards from "rare" countries in the following weeks. And more thanks to Elisabeth for helping me out, since Switzerland, the country where she lives, is one of the semi-rare countries. The first two cards are from her.

From Dan Chen in China:

Courtesy of Jennifer from Scotland. She says that besides the traders and clothes, the street in the photo looks exactly the same.

From Lena in Belarus, courtesy of the Eyes Closed tag. My first owl postcard!

From a fellow Kristen, who lives in Florida. We did a private swap and she sent me this incredible shuttle card. Such a shame that we'll never see another shuttle launch!

February 14

Vicki from Puerto Rico sent me this photo of Old San Juan in a private swap.

Postcards and letters: 1/12 & 1/13

Yesterday I received a postcard from Holly in England, a postcard pal I found through Post Crossing. I love baked goods, and this postcard looks good enough to eat!

Today I came home from work to find two postcards and a letter. Huijuan from China send a photo of the Songzanlin Temple. I had sent Stephanie from postmarkme.blogspot.com and Olivia from writing-letters.blogspot.com postcards last week. In return, Stephanie sent me an adorable photo of a boy eyeing an ice cream sundae and Olivia send a pear-themed notecard.
