Postcards: 4/20

Two lovely postcards today. This pretty Cinderella card comes from Finland. The person who sent this to me considered sending me Beauty and the Beast's Belle since I live in Belleville, but ultimately decided the Cinderella card was prettier. Pretty funny! :)
Josien from the Netherlands went to Mexico for vacation last month and picked up this cool card. It's my first Mexican card, not to mention it features Mayan ruins, which I would love to visit someday.

Postcards: 4/19

Looks like I've been having themes this week. First cards from the US, then cards from Russia, and now all cat cards!

From Emma in Poland. She drew a cute dog picture to go along with the card.

My first Jetoy card from Lori in California

Another card from Amy in Washington. Very sweet!

Postcards: 4/18

Firstly, I apologize to all my pen pals who I owe letters to! I've gotten a bit behind and it's gotten a bit overwhelming. I'm working on it though. :)

Today, two postcards from Russia.

From Stephanie in the Autumn tag. My favorite season!

An official card from Inna. Very cute and I like the Postcrossing message on it!

Postcards: 4/17

A bunch of private swap cards from people in the US today!

Amy is a new user on Postcrossing and offered to send me this Washington map card. Thank you Amy!

Kristen from Florida is someone who I've swapped with in the past. Today I received these beautiful cards of a Florida beach and of the launch of the shuttle Discovery. Thank you Kristen!

Kori from Idaho agreed to help me with collecting cards from Idaho and Montana. Thank you Kori!

Postcards: 4/13 - 4/16

Adorable dog card from Belarus. I haven't received many dog cards, so I'm very happy to get them.
The clown card comes from Russia and is for the Weird/Odd/Strange RR. Yes, it certainly is all three! Clowns tend to scare me a bit anyway!

This card comes from Lauren in Maryland. I love crab cakes from Joe's Crab Shack, so I'm very excited to try this recipe!

Maksim from Belarus sent this beautiful castle card as part of a swap. Apparently they're going to turn it into a hotel. What a neat place that would be to stay!

This map card was (obviously) sent from Dresden, Germany. I think it's neat how it's in German!

This is a maxi card Luo Xia sent me from China of her city of Nanning. I like how she referred to me in her message by my last name! :D

Another adorable dog card from Colinde in the Netherlands.

Postcards: 3/30 - 4/7: Part Two

The second part to my 3/30-4/7 post. You can see the first part directly below this one.

Malaysia

Matthew sent me these in a private swap. Isn't the orangutan adorable?!

Romania

Daniela sent me these cards. I love astronomy, so I had to have the Galileo card. I chose the photo of Queen Elizabeth because royalty interests me and because I think her outfit (circa 1885) is pretty neat!

Taiwan

Jennifer sent the beautiful architecture card. How fitting that she says she's an architectural student!
Yi-Ju sent this card through the North America -> World RR. It shows the city of Kaohsiung.

Ukraine

Masha sent the flag card. She says the colors represent the colors of the sky and golden fields. The emblem in the center is a trident that's thought to represent the division of the world into three spheres: the Earthly, the celestial, and the spiritual, as well as the union of air, water, and Earth. Pretty neat!
Iana sent the beautiful autumn card. My favorite season!

France/Saudi Arabia

I had participated in Stephanie's recipe notebook and she sent the coffee card as a thank you.
Gosia in Italy sent me this rare Saudi Arabia card

China/Russia

I got the cute cat card from China
Boris from Russia sent the card of astronaut Fyodor Yurchikhin

Belgium/Belarus

Helen sent me this beautiful unicorn card. My first one!
Lera from Belarus sent me this card of her town.

Wales/Japan

Lorna from England says she spends lots of time in Wales, so that's where she got this card.
Kotona in Japan sent this card for the Weird/Odd/Strange RR. I think it's pretty funny!

South Africa/Slovenia

Reinette sent this beautiful card from South Africa
Another beautiful view card! Kristijan sent this one from Slovenia.

Norway/Indonesia

Valentina from Italy spends a lot of time in Norway and sent me this beautiful Norwegian card for my collection.
Novia is an Indonesian living in Germany. She says the photo on the card is of women performing a rain dance during dry season.

Estonia

Maili sent me this card... the cat looks almost exactly like mine! Minus the white stomach and paws. She says the words on the front mean "by sweet and all by okay".

Switzerland

Occasionally I sign up for lotteries on the Postcrossing forum, hoping to win free postcards from generous members. Elisabeth, who I've previously swapped with, had a lottery offering a card signed by all members who attended the Swiss meet-up. I unfortunately didn't win, but Elisabeth decided to send me a signed card anyway since I had helped her with her Civil War collection. Thank you Elisabeth!

Postcards: 3/30 - 4/7

I feel like I've been away forever! I started a new job this past Monday and it's been exhausting. I've gotten very far behind on uploading and updating. I've received 31 cards since I last updated! I also have 15 U2Us waiting for me at the Postcrossing website. This seems like a simple hobby, but it can be time-consuming! I love it anyway though. :)

I'm going to try to keep these as organized as possible. Blogger has a limit on tags, so I'll be posting this in two parts.

First up, the United States!

From a private swap with Ron in New Jersey

Elizabeth in Delaware agreed to swap with me and she sent me this card

Tara sent the Rhode Island card. The card says the "What cheer, netop?" means "how are you, friend?". It comes from the Native Americans who used to live in the area.
A 9-year-old boy sent me the North Carolina card.

Mary Ann sent the New Hampshire card. I like what she had to say on the back: "with only 13 miles of coastline it seems silly to have a flag with a ship!". I couldn't agree more!
Tricia from Connecticut found my blog through sandbook.net and decided to send the Vietnam Veterans Memorial card to help with my collection. Thank you Tricia! It's a very touching card.

D.J. from Arkansas sent me the Arkansas card in a private swap.
Mike from New York sent the strange card for the Weird/Odd/Strange Round Robin. He says it's a New Orleans Marti Gras invitation.
